i do miss it

yes i do. i've been thinking about this, and avoiding it, and thinking about it again...but i'm now going to admit it. I MISS TEXAS. the idyllic things...like

-the wealth of public parks!
-my family's home cooking

-doing art in my studio
-long drives down rural roads in alief

-brazilian buffet near my house
-bangladeshi community center
-the hill.
-the hill extended.

-i actually miss driving because i could sing in my car for like 30-45 minutes, or use that time to think about things. nowadays i dont have that kind of quiet time conveniently carved into my day, i have to schedule it for myself. and let me tell you, that's hard.

-playing volleyball outside valhalla's at Rice U.
-3rd ward.

-5th ward and the silver slipper
-the contemporary arts museum

-the backyard in my parents' house
-sleeping on a real bed (as opposed to an air mattress)


well its okay really. missing things is a part of life. cant dwell too much though cuz i gotta look onward and upward. i'm also glad i came here because there are people here (students I work with and my peers) that I've inspired, and that is so invaluable to me. I mean if I can inspire anyone in any way positive, I can die happy. and also i've gotten two freakin cute dogs living here. can't complain too much...
